The beginning of the new season is just around the corner for Chelsea players, so they try to make the most of the free time they have left. A short video posted recently on the club’s official Instagram account shows the Chelsea stars enjoying themselves by the pool and diving head first into the cool water.

Antonio Conte’s men also posed for a few photos by the swimming pool at the team’s hotel in sunny Beverly Hills, California after a training session under the watchful eye of their manager.

As you can see, most of them are donning Chelsea-branded trunks and they proudly show off their impeccably sculpted bodies, six-packs and all, in the searing California heat.

The players, among who we can notice Bertrand Traore, Nemanja Matic, Fabregas, Ola Aina, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, John Terry, Willian and Asmir Begovic, look on and laugh as defender Cahill is the first to dive in looking relaxed and amused.

Based on the dates the photos appeared online, it seems that they were taken during the few days off they had after their heated friendly match against Liverpool on Wednesday and the game against Real Madrid in Michigan on Saturday.

The Blues had a good game in Los Angeles, as they beat Liverpool 1-0 in the first game of their pre-season tour of the USA, thanks to a goal by Gary Cahill. And although it was a friendly game, it was not without dramatic moments. Cesc Fabregas, for instance, was dismissed in his very first game of pre-season for a horror tackle on Reds’ new centre-back player Ragnar Klavan.

As for the clash against Real Madrid, this one was not that easy and Antonio Conte’s men were defeated despite scoring two late goals through Eden Hazard.

They must have been tired after Conte’s grueling training sessions in Los Angeles. But despite the critique, Conte is defending the feisty and aggressive team-spirit, saying “Yes, I like if my team plays with great aggression and high intensity. We train to prepare for that because I want that my team has an identity.”
