Everyone knows Cristiano Ronaldo has an ego the size of a football court, and not without reason, as he undoubtedly is one of the best football players of all time. But his qualities extend beyond his football ability, apparently. At least that’s what the Portugal and Real Madrid star wants to have us think.
The other day, the three-time Ballon d’Or winner took time out of his post-Euro 2016 holiday in the United States to visit UFC fighter Conor McGregor at his training camp in Las Vegas and challenge him to a friendly melee.
Following his success at this summer’s European Championships, Ronaldo stepped into the Octagon and posed for some fleshy pictures with the Irish cage fighter and mixed martial artist.
In the Instagram posts documenting his visit to McGregor’s gym, we see a shirtless Cristiano Ronaldo next to an equally bare-chested Conor showing off their sculpted bodies, with perfectly chiseled abs and bulging biceps. If you look closely, you’ll also spot some proof that Ronaldo has been living it up at the beach during his holiday – a barely visible tan line above his briefs.
The duo also posed with the arms outstretched, facing each other in the ring in a ready-to-fight stance, but rest assured, they did not charge at each other, as Ronaldo made sure to let us know in the caption of the snap, which reads “Great to see you bro!!”
The MMA fighter shared his own picture after the visit, with the message, “My brother Ronaldo dropped by the gym today! He is an animal. Thank you @cristiano, much respect! I will see you for that Forbes number 1 spot next year. #ThisIsTheMacLife.”
McGregor will return to the Octagon at UFC 202 next month and he will get a chance to avenge his previous defeat at the hands of Nate Diaz in March. Ronaldo is a friend of John Kavanagh, McGregor’s trainer.
Ronaldo, on the other hand, is all about relaxing and partying these days after leading Portugal to Euro 2016 glory and winning the Henri Delauney Trophy in France. So he is just enjoying himself, lying out in the sun and partying with various celebrities, including Jennifer Lopez and Eva Longoria.
The midfielder, who was named the highest-paid athlete in the world earlier this year, is still recovering from a knee injury sustained during the Euro 2016 final against France, but the good life will end soon, though, as the football player is set to be back in training on August 10.
